Ander Biguri

I'm a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge currently working on Computed Tomography (CT) reconstruction and machine learning for medical imaging. I did my PhD research at the University of Bath and CERN, and postdocs at the University of Southampton and University College of London. My work focuses on developing fast and accurate algorithms for CT, CBCT and PET image reconstruction, with a particular emphasis on iterative methods and machine learning approaches. I'm the main developer of the TIGRE toolbox, an open-source MATLAB/Python toolbox for CT reconstruction that implements state-of-the-art algorithms and is used worldwide by researchers and industry.

I have broad interests across computational imaging, including motion compensation in medical imaging, deep learning for image reconstruction, and hardware acceleration of imaging algorithms. Recently, I've been working on developing robust neural networks for learned CT reconstruction. Check the in development LION software for this topic.
